Denise's leadership to business women extends beyond that of a role model. She was instrumental in forming a model program, the Women Partners Network, where women partners meet on an informal and personal basis to mentor women in the firm. Denise is also actively involved with PWC commitment to the Susan B. Komen Walk/Run for the Cure. She runs the race yearly with her daughters, Elizabeth and Michele.
Denise is an active Alumnae Board Member. She serves on GMA's Finance Committee. She is the alumnae/parent representative on the Heritage Committee. Denise was nominated for the award by the two "Michele's" in her life. Both her twin sister, Michele Corkery Hanes, and her daughter, Michele Marbach, nominated her for this award. Her sister Michele proudly stated that "the character traits I admire the most in my sister, fortitude and loyalty" are present in all that she does.
