LETTER FROM THE EDITORS
Spring has finally sprung across the Philadelphia region and with it comes the always dreaded obligation of spring cleaning and the undercurrent of the change in season. While we wash our windows and wind our watches forward, we must also remember to take some time to evaluate and realign our priorities within our professional lives. In this financial crisis that seemingly has no end in sight, how can we possibly even begin to take stock of our position in the grand scheme of things, much less try to make ourselves anew? How can we sweep our economic worries under the rug in order to see clearly the obstacles we as healthcare professionals must overcome? Where can we begin to turn when everything around us has begun to change? Unfortunately, as with sprucing up our personal living space, the only way to achieve these goals is to roll up our sleeves, dig in our heels, and get to work.
That is why now is the time for you to utilize all that HFMA of Metro Philadelphia has to offer. Focus on networking opportunities at the A&A Update and Golf Outing on May 21, 2009. Take the plunge and finally become a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional. Or simply reach out to a local HFMA member you have not met and introduce yourself. |

We must continue to embrace the changes throughout our lives, for change is constant. Change also makes the world go ‘round which is why we at HFMA would like to introduce our online newsletter, which will highlight news and articles that we hope will help members react to (and inspire) change within the healthcare sector. Providing the newsletter online enables us to give you the most relevant information at only a click away. It also provides you easier access to sponsor websites and their solutions for dealing with change.
As we continue to do our best to make it through these times of change and uncertainty, let us remember that summertime flowers cannot grow without the springtime rain and the fuzzy winter caterpillars will emerge as butterflies.
