Healthcare Reform: Making It Count
September 24th, at Temple University Health System Corporate Offices

All around us, the very nature of healthcare and how it is delivered is in a constant state of flux.  Join us as we present on a variety of informative topics designed to prepare the healthcare finance professional for upcoming changes related to Healthcare Reform initiatives.  To start the day, the CFO committee has organized a panel discussion centering around HFMA's theme "Making it Happen" through the evaluation, selection and implementation of Clinical Information System (Electronic Medical Record).  Listen in and actively participate in question and answers that will aid in decsion making and strategy setting for key investments in information technology, and getting the greatest financial value out of those assets in response to industry trends.

The Fall Institute's 3 afternoon general tracks involve topics that will concentrate on pertinent healthcare financial issues as well as focused lessons in microsoft software and recent governmental reimbursement direction.  The General tracks will provide discussion surrounding the RAC appeals process from the legal as well as provider perspective.  J.A Thomas Associates' presentation "ICD-10-CM & ICD-10-PCS: Revenue Cycle Readiness and Implementation Strategies" will provide guidance regarding the implementation of the new ICD-10 coding system.  Industry professionals from Highmark will address the Fiscal Intermediary Updates concentrating on the effects on Bad Debts, DSH, Wage Index as well as IME / GME.  "Select Payment issues affecting Hospital Reimbursement" as well as IME/GME Updates will be discussed as part of the Reimbursement tracks.   Ann Meehan Saputelli and Jon Pearce will continue to share their expertise concerning Microsoft Office via 3 presentations providing updates, specifically addressing Graphs, functions, Macros as well as Pivot Tables.

Our education-packed day will conclude with two views of healthcare reform and healthcare delivery:  We will take a look inside the Russian system, as well see what may be in store for all of us here in the United States.  Join us in "Making It Count" and gain the skills needed to prepare yourself and your institution for the changes on the horizon.
