Excellence in Access: Let the Data Lead the Way Patient access management can be challenging. Often you need to lead staff who are spread out in different areas and who work around the clock. Due to the nature of the business we often manage in a reactive manner. Long term this practice has a negative effect as people "burn out" from constant negative attention. A better approach would be to manage in a proactive manner - anticipate problems, see trends, create data and spend time addressing consistent problems. Learn how to let the data lead the way.

Michael is a nationally recognized expert in the field of patient access and the conversion of self-pay patients to governmental programs. Michael has authored many articles on issues relating to patient access. Michael recently completed his first book entitled Staff Competency in Patient Access: Tools, tests, and tips for building a successful team. Michael is a speaker at many local and national NAHAM, HFMA and other professional association meetings. Michael is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). He is also a Certified Healthcare Access Manager from the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM).
